7th September: Harvest Hoedown
It’s time to gather the harvest! We’ll head out into the fields to pick some delicious farm-fresh vegetables and discover how they grow. Afterwards, we’ll create our own paper plate gardens, showing what’s happening beneath the soil.
14th September: All About Sheep
Meet some of the farm’s woolliest residents and discover what a year in the life of a sheep farmer looks like. We’ll then get creative, designing a cotton wool sheep and learning to label the different parts of its body.
21st September: Perfect Pumpkins
We’ll visit the pumpkin fields to see how our crop is growing and follow the fascinating journey from planting a tiny seed to harvesting a fully grown pumpkin. The afternoon will be filled with pumpkin-themed crafts and activities.
28th September: Build a Bug Hotel
Let’s create a cosy hideaway for some of the farm’s smallest residents! We’ll explore the woodland to collect natural materials including sticks, leaves, hollow stems and pine cones, before using them to build our own bug hotels and placing them in the perfect woodland spot.
5th October: Trees and Leaves – updated
We’ll explore the farm to identify different types of trees, looking closely at their leaves and discovering why many trees lose them during winter. We’ll collect some fallen leaves along the way and use them to create colourful crayon rubbings.
12th October: Farm Wildlife and Hibernation
Who shares the farm with us, and where do they go when winter arrives? We’ll take a wildlife walk to look for signs of the creatures living around the farm and learn how and why some animals hibernate. We’ll finish with a hibernation-themed craft.
19th October: Halloween on the Farm
Get ready for some spooktacular farm fun! We’ll visit the pumpkin patch to pick our own pumpkins before heading inside for carving and a selection of Halloween-themed activities.
26th October: Half-term – no session
2nd November: Bonfire Night
Remember, remember, the fifth of November! We’ll discover the story behind Bonfire Night before getting creative with colourful firework-themed crafts in the afternoon.
9th November: Remembrance Day
In this thoughtful session, we’ll learn about Remembrance Day, what it represents and why it remains so important. Afterwards, we’ll create our own poppy-themed crafts.
16th November: Brilliant Bulbs
In this session we’ll head out to the tulip fields to watch the bulbs being planted and learn how they’ll grow into beautiful flowers. In the afternoon, we’ll take a closer look at how plants work and explore the basics of photosynthesis.
23rd November: All About Tractors – updated
From vintage vehicles to mighty modern machinery, we’ll explore Farmer Ray’s collection and discover how tractors have changed over the years. In the afternoon, we’ll put our number skills to work with some fun tractor and trailer counting activities.
30th November: Recycling on the Farm
Discover some of the different ways we reduce waste and recycle materials here on the farm. In the afternoon, we’ll give household recycling a new lease of life with a fun junk-modelling challenge.
7th December: Caring for Our Animals in Winter
What changes when the colder weather arrives? We’ll visit the animal zones to discover how we keep our animals warm, comfortable and well cared for throughout winter. We’ll then enjoy some festive animal-themed crafts.
14th December: Jingle Ville
We’ll round off the term with a wonderfully festive visit to Jingle Ville, exploring its magical sights and soaking up plenty of Christmas cheer together!
